Eric Maul Memorial Scholarship Fund helps support deserving young flutists to MPIMC

The Eric Maul Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by Eric’s family to celebrate his passion for music and life. Your donation to MPIMC, in Eric’s memory, will help support aspiring young flutists by providing them with a full scholarship to attend the Summer Masterclasses in Switzerland. This program offers invaluable opportunities for growth, inspiration, and development under the guidance of Marina Piccinini. By contributing, you help to keep Eric’s spirit alive, fostering the dreams of the next generation of flutists. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact. Thank you for helping us honour Eric’s legacy in such a powerful way.

Eric Maul earned his Bachelor’s degree in Flute Performance from the Peabody Institute, where he studied with Marina Piccinini and became a cherished member of the “Peabody Flute family.” Upon graduating in 2013, he was honored with the Britton Johnson Memorial Flute Prize. He continued his studies at the New England Conservatory, earning his Master’s degree. He attended many summers as a performer at MPIMC, from its inception in Baltimore in 2008, with his last performances in Miami in 2019. In that time span he was also often on hand, generously supporting the program in countless ways.

In 2019 Eric moved to Provincetown, where he founded the Red Door Chamber Music, as a community ensemble dedicated to bringing chamber music to the heart of the town.

Eric was uniquely himself—immensely talented, witty, and generous, with an intelligence and warmth that drew people in. He found his greatest happiness in sharing his humour, music, and joy with others, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
