Beyond the Score: Expression through Interpretation

These masterclasses are an in-depth exploration of the complete concert repertoire for the flute, spanning the Baroque to the Contemporary eras. Performers of all ages will cultivate and enhance their musicianship by furthering their interpretative insights, deepening their stylistic knowledge, and honing the technical and intellectual skills required to be a successful and engaging performer. These classes provide enriching learning opportunities for performers as well as auditors.

Etude of the Week

Founded by Katy Wherry, this online community of over 6,500 flutists shares their practice, performance and feedback with each other.

EotW will be featured on MPIMC online, giving participants an opportunity to perform one of the Donjon 8 Etudes de Salon with feedback from Marina Piccinini. Performances and feedback will be featured on the Etude of the Week website and Facebook group. This session will include a brief discussion about practicing etudes and Q&A with Katy Wherry.

The Breath: A Window to well-being

In this series of 5 Feldenkrais Classes, Niall O’Riordan will lead us through an exploration of the quality of our breathing, how it mirrors our current state and how it affects the quality of our life and work- particularly meaningful during the prolonged state of insecurity and isolation that has surrounded us during the Pandemic. These lessons aim to provide participants with the space to momentarily step back, reconnect and move back into their daily life and flute playing with more ease.
