Getting There

Address

Biel-Kinzig

6463 Bürglen, UR

Due to its central location, Uri is accessible from various airports in Switzerland and Italy. The impeccable Swiss train system (famous for its punctuality and reliability) has a vast network of connections to the Train station in Altdorf, which is also synchronised with the public bus service. A unique feature of the Kanton Uri is the implementation of Gondolas that carry passengers up the steep mountains in a relatively short time , with breathtaking views. In the summer months, with a permit, it is also possible to drive up the mountain, but this is mostly reserved for the residents and even then discourages , as it is primarily a farming area with priority given to the tranquility and quality of life for not only residents and visitors, but the beautiful cows that graze on the land.
