Marianna Sharifianova, 17,17, is a passionate flutist from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She began flute studies at age 7 and is currently in her second year at the Rimsky-Korsakov Saint Petersburg Music College, as a student of Olesia Tertychnaia, soloist of the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic.

A frequent participant in national and international competitions and masterclasses, Marianna was recently awarded the Young Talents Prize and took part in a masterclass with Sophia Viland, soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre. Her growing love for orchestral playing has led her to perform works like Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 and Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker (piccolo), and to dedicate her future to life in the orchestra.
